Support Groups

No one should face cancer alone. Monongahela Valley Hospital offers support groups that are free and open to people with cancer and their friends and families. Some people find that joining a support group helps them manage the range of feelings or fears that they experience during and after their cancer treatment. Support groups help some people cope better with their diagnoses and increase their knowledge of cancer and its treatment. They also help enhance a person's self-esteem, reduce depression, decrease anxiety and improve relationships with loved ones. These groups also help family and friends cope with the many emotions that a loved one's cancer can create.
